SuprAffs: Hoarding

Choose from the following list according to that which you find believable and best fits your situation. Read or repeat out loud the SuprAff (not the part in parenthesis) until your new habits are firmly established. (The latest studies show the average time for a habit to become permanent is around 66 days, but you will start behaving and see partial results right away).

                                   SuprAffs: Hoarding

I like it when I only handle something once and then put it where it belongs immediately.

I like it when I frequently take time to analyze what I'm hoarding, and why.

I like it when I have a special place for everything and keeping everything is in its place.

I like it when I list things I want organized by order of importance.

I like it when I throw out or give away things that are unimportant before attempting to get organized. (It cuts down on the time spent organizing later).

I like it when I start with the room that creates the most stress for me first, once I've decided to de-clutter.

I like it when I remember to take a photo of sentimental objects before giving them away. (It's easier to part with things I am no longer using and I can still have a reminder of the past).

I like it when I'm able to focus on the essentials in life. (Less is better and not so stressful).

I like it when I look around and see things neat and uncluttered.

I like it when I'm able to set unimportant things aside.

I like completing daily tasks early and then have free time to relax.

I like it when I get other people's ideas before organizing things I share with them.

"The beauty of using autosuggestion techniques like SuprAffs to change habits lies in their ease of use. You don't have to force or white-knuckle anything. Just be patient and persevere and you will slowly feel like doing things differently".
