SuprAffs: Financial Goals
I LIKE it when I renew my commitment daily to work on my financial goals and planning.
I LIKE to take a minute to "think" before making any purchase. (Studies show the desire to spend is often emotional rather than rational).
I LIKE it when I keep my financial papers organized daily.
I LIKE it when I review daily, all of my banking, debit and credit card activity.
I LIKE focusing on goals that will make me financially self-reliant.
I LIKE it when I keep track of expenses with a daily log.
I LIKE continually search and brainstorm for ways to increase my income and decrease my expenses.
I LIKE it when I "visualize" a discretionary purchase for at least 30 seconds before acting. (Studies show this elevates dopamine which theoretically reduces the "craving" to spend.)
I LIKE reminding myself daily to try not to incur any unsecured debt.
I LIKE to ask myself before buying anything "do I need this"? (or am I just "satisfying an emotional need or my ego")?
I LIKE it when I take at least three (3) days to think about any major financial decision.
I LIKE finding ways to save money. (Money saved is like money earned).
I LIKE to review the pros and cons of a potential purchase or investment. (Preferably with a Ben Franklin spreadsheet).
I LIKE it when I follow a daily budget. (It keeps me from overspending).
I LIKE it when I pay bills as they become due. (It’s less stressful and I’m less apt to forget paying on time).
I LIKE saving the same amount of money each month.
I LIKE giving a little money every month to charity.
I LIKE it when I can ignore or conquer the urge to spend money when feeling either positive or negative emotions.
I LIKE it when I focus on my own efforts (rather than governments or companies) to create income, (even if just partially at first).
I LIKE it when I take a minute each day to "visualize" being a "money-magnet". (Actually picturing money flying at you daily can change your "affluence self-image").
I LIKE it when I routinely discuss long term family finances with all family members including children.
